Dr. Atchison is originally from Northern Michigan, earning her Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University before attending Optometry School at Indiana University. She completed a residency in Cornea and Contact Lenses at Indiana University, bringing with her the skill to fit numerous specialty contact lenses.
As an optometry student, Dr. Atchison had the opportunity to complete numerous externships throughout the continent, including Glenview Vision Care in Glenview, IL; Bennett and Bloom Eye Care Center in Louisville, KY and Clinica Optometrica Hospital General in Guanajuato, Mexico. Through these Externships, Dr. Atchison treated many different ocular diseases, developing a passion for eye care, while gaining experience working in various hospital and private practice settings.
Her residency training has afforded her the opportunity to win numerous awards, including recognition at the national level for her work in cornea and contact lenses. She has a true passion for optometry and providing her patients the highest level of vision and health care possible.
Dr. Atchison loves giving back and enjoyed serving as adjunct faculty in the Cornea and Contact Lens department at the Indiana University School of Optometry until opening her own practice. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband – golfing, watching movies, fishing and just being outdoors. She treats every patient as if they are family and is excited to serve the Bedford and Lawrence county community.
Dr. KelLee Adams joins Atchison Eyecare in August 2018 to help Dr. Atchison in our ever growing practice Dr. Adams received her Bachelor's of Science degree from Ithaca College in upstate New York, and continued her studies at the Indiana University School of Optometry, obtaining her Doctorate of Optometry in 2012. Dr. Adams is now excited to return to southern Indiana with her husband. Dr. Adams specializes in primary care optometry and contact lens fittings for adults and children, offering exams in both English and Spanish. The majority of her professional experience has been working in a multi-disciplinary ophthalmology practice, gaining extensive experience in the medical management of ocular disease as well as surgical co-management. She is excited to bring these skills to Atchison Eyecare and provide the highest level of optometric care to all patients. Dr. Adams is a member of the Indiana Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. Outside of the office, she enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with family and friends. Dr. Adams can't wait to meet you and serve your eye care needs!
